Good news for anyone who likes a clean toilet with minimal effort: our Toilet Foam Explosion has a brand new formula. More foam, even with cold water, and more power against limescale. Here's what changed, and why.

Our Toilet Foam Explosion has become one of our most popular toilet products, and customers give it 4 out of 5 on average. We're happy with that, of course. But at YOKUU, we mostly see 4 out of 5 as a good reason to work out how to make it 5 out of 5. 😉

We get great reactions to the 100% natural scent, the foam itself and, above all, how well it works on heavy buildup above and below the waterline.

Still, some of the feedback gave us something to work on.

What could be better

Some customers found that the product didn't foam enough with cold water. That's why our packaging said to add warm water first. Only... not everyone reads the instructions in full before they start cleaning. So anyone using cold water sometimes didn't get the foam explosion they were expecting.

A few customers also told us it could work harder on stubborn limescale above the waterline.

So Joris went back to testing.

Six months of testing, foaming and starting over

Joris, our founder, spent the past six months testing different versions to improve the formula.

The result is a brand new formula that foams better and works even harder on stubborn buildup.

One of the biggest changes is our new foaming ingredient. It works much better in cold water. That means you now get much stronger and more reliable foam, even without warm water.

But we didn't only work on the foam.

Alongside citric acid and sodium bicarbonate, the new formula now also contains sodium carbonate. That combination gives a stronger fizz and helps the formula work even harder on stubborn buildup and limescale.

In short: more fizz, more foam and a more powerful clean.

Cold water or warm water?

The new formula works perfectly well with cold water.

For a full foam explosion with cold water, we recommend 2 scoops of 50 g each. That gives you enough foam to reach the area above the waterline too.

Want your Toilet Foam Explosion to go further? Use warm water, between roughly 30 and 60 °C. The higher temperature boosts the reaction and the foam, so 1 scoop of 50 g can be enough.

Which also means one bag can last up to twice as long. 👀

Toilet Bombs and Toilet Foam Explosion?

We often get asked what exactly the difference is between our Toilet Bombs and the Toilet Foam Explosion.

The answer is simple: they complement each other perfectly.

And it seems you've worked that out yourselves, because 85% of our Toilet Bomb customers also buy the Toilet Foam Explosion.

Our Toilet Bombs are made for regular upkeep. We recommend using one 15 g bomb about once a week. They work especially well on brown buildup and dirt below the waterline.

The Toilet Foam Explosion is our heavy-duty clean. You use 50 to 100 g in one go. The foam rises up the bowl, so the product can work both below and above the waterline.

Our favourite routine? A Toilet Bomb every week. A proper Foam Explosion about once a month.

In other words: ideal for the lazy cleaner who doesn't feel like scrubbing the toilet all the time, and would rather do one proper clean every now and then.

One more important tip

Always close the bag properly after use. The ingredients are sensitive to moisture. If you leave the bag open in a humid bathroom, it can affect the fizz and the foam.

Bag closed, toilet clean, and back to more fun things.

Clean less. Live more. 💚
